Clean and wash veg.
Cut potatoes in halves
Cut sweet potatoes and yam into 2 inch cubes - 2
Take all ingredients for masala paste & grind coarsely. Now add carom seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, chilli powder, coriander-cumin powder & mix well with masala paste. Divide into 2 equal parts.

Now add papdi into masala paste mix well, now pour ground nut oil on it. Mix gently. Now in another masala paste add purple yam, potatoes & sweet potatoes & 2 tbsp ground nut oil in mix.

Take an earthen pot, put kalar bhaji at bottom,add papdi then again kalar bhaji then potatoes, purple yam and sweet potatoes at top.Cover with kalar bhaji. Picture of kalar bhaji(kalar bhaji is used only for flavour and not used to eat)

Seal pot and put it on a slow flame in a hole dug in the ground, cook for 1 hour.
