Boil the potatoes and mash them. Add chopped onions and other spices mentioned with the mashed potatoes and mix well.

Mix the flour and water to make a dough and roll into a circular shape.

Put the potato mixture in the middle of this dough. Seal the dough properly as if you were making a modak. Press lightly and roll into a circular shape again.

Take a pan and put a spoon of butter. Put the dough onto it, and cook them on both sides, using a heated girdle, until it is crispy and brown.

Serve these hot and tasty aloo parathas with yoghurt or tomato chutney.
