Preheat the oven to 430°F (220°C).

Thinly slice the onions and sauté them over medium heat in a skillet with a little oil or butter. Cook until they are golden brown.

Roll out the flammekueche dough very thin and place it on a baking rack lined with parchment paper.

Spread crème fraîche (or sour cream) over the dough. Season with salt and pepper.

Distribute the onions evenly. Slice the Munster cheese thinly and arrange the slices over the onions. Sprinkle a pinch of whole cumin seeds on each slice of cheese.

Bake for 15 minutes. Serve hot with a green salad and a glass of Alsatian white wine (like Riesling or Pinot Gris)!
