Steps

First cut the chicken into smaller pieces, clean for any unwanted parts, clean thoroughly and keep aside

In a mixie grind 2 onions, 4 tomatoes, ginger and garlic and keep aside

Chop 1 onion and keep aside.

Put on the stove and heat some oil in a pan. Add cinnamon sticks, cloves and fennel seeds to throw oil and saute for a few seconds.

Add the chopped onion and cook for few minutes.

Then add chicken to the pan and stir for a few seconds and add the ground onion mix to the pan.

Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, required quantity of salt and water and allow it to cook till the gravy becomes thick and the chicken is soft for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally.

Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves. Now our tasty chicken gravy is ready to be served with idly, dosa, Puri or chapatis.
