Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  1. 4 piecesosso buco (veal shank with bone marrow)
  2. 1onion
  3. flour
  4. olive oil
  5. 1bouillon cube
  6. 1 2/3 cupsdry white wine (about 400 ml)
  7. oregano or Italian herbs
  8. 1 canpeeled tomatoes (or fresh tomatoes when in season)

Steps

  1. 1

    Slice the onion and sauté it in a large skillet with a little olive oil.

  2. 2

    Pat the meat dry with a paper towel, coat both sides with flour, and brown it in the skillet.

  3. 3

    In an oven-safe Dutch oven, add the tomatoes, bouillon cube, white wine, 1 clove of garlic, herbs, and then add the meat and onions.

  4. 4

    Add the white wine and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
