Ingredients

  1. 1 cuprice
  2. 1 cupsplit black gram lentils
  3. 200 gramgreen peas
  4. 1potato
  5. 150 gramcauliflower florets
  6. 100 gramcarrot
  7. 1 inchginger
  8. 2 tablespoonsmustard oil
  9. 1 pinchhing / asafoetida
  10. to tasteSalt
  11. 1/2 teaspooncumin seeds
  12. 1/4 teaspoonturmeric powder
  13. 1 teaspoonred pepper powder
  14. 1/2 teaspoongaram masala powder
  15. as neededGhee for topping

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and soak rice and pulse for 5 minutes

  2. 2

    Put a pressure cooker on heat

  3. 3

    Heat the oil

  4. 4

    Add cumin seeds to crackle

  5. 5

    Add turmeric powder and red pepper powder

  6. 6

    Add 1 cup of water

  7. 7

    Add chopped cauliflower,carrot,ginger,potato and green peas

  8. 8

    Add rice and pulses

  9. 9

    Add salt and garam masala powder

  10. 10

    Add 1 more glass of water

  11. 11

    Put the lid on pressure cooker

  12. 12

    Take 1 whistle and then turn off the flame

  13. 13

    Open the lid after 5 minutes

  14. 14

    Serve hot topped with ghee along with papad,curd,pickle and chutney
