Accounts of its origins vary. Drinking a blend of black teas for breakfast is a longstanding British custom.

Fill a kettle with water and boil the water.

Place a teabag in a mug, I prefer Yorkshire tea.

Add boiling water to the mug with the teabag.

Leave the tea to brew for 4 minutes exactly. This part is very important. If you're only going to leave the teabag in there for a few seconds you might as well not bother making tea 😉.

Remove the teabag. Do not agitate the teabag otherwise it will release the bitter tannins.

Add a drop of milk.

You can experiment with different quantities of milk here are two acceptable examples.
