Ingredients

  1. 500 gmschana
  2. 2medium sized onions chopped
  3. 2green chillies
  4. 1large tomato chopped
  5. 1.5 teaspoonginger paste
  6. 1 teaspoongarlic paste
  7. 2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  8. 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
  9. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  10. 1bayleaf
  11. 1 teaspoongaram masala powder
  12. 1.5 teaspooncoriander powder
  13. as requiredSalt as required
  14. as requiredSugar as required
  15. as requiredVegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the chanas overnight.

    In a pressure cooker add the chanas, half of the onions and green chillies and some water.

  3. 3

    Boil the chanas till 5-6 whistles.

  4. 4

    In a wok, heat some oil and add the bay leaf and cumin seeds. Saute it for a while till the aroma comes out.

    Add the rest of the chopped onions and saute them till brown in colour.

    Add the chopped tomatoes and some salt.

  7. 7

    Saute it till the tomato gets soft.

    Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, red chilli powder and coriander powder.

    Saute and mix the masalas all together till the oil separates.

    Add the mixture of the boiled chanas along with the water in which it was boiled.

    Cover it in a medium flame for 5 mins.

    Once the gravy becomes thick, add some sugar, garam masala powder and mix them well.

    Remove it from the flame and serve hot with bhature.
