Chicken Fajitas with Tortilla

Comment: Plain chicken breast becomes perfect in Tex-Mex cuisine.
Chicken Fajitas, a Mexican dish that is very popular in the US, especially in the South, where people eat not only potatoes and bread as staples but also tortillas that can be eaten with anything.
Steak is the most recognized protein presentation in the US before the fast-food revolution took over eating habits there. The combination of tortilla and steak is what eventually became known as fajitas.
Chicken Fajitas, this dish is a favorite of my husband, and because when I lived in the US, I couldn't cook, fajitas were one of the dishes I made most often because they are easy with ready-made spices and tortillas that you can just buy.
Like their father, the kids also love fajitas. I usually buy tortillas and spice mixes from Old El Paso, but this time I made them myself because it's easy. 👩🍳

Steps
- 1
Clean the chicken breast, remove the bones. Prepare the spices.
- 2
Prepare the red, yellow, and green bell peppers and the onion.
- 3
Thinly slice the chicken breast, add the spices, mix, and add olive oil. Marinate for at least 2 hours.
- 4
Meanwhile, make simple tortillas - mix and knead all the ingredients, let rest for 30 minutes, divide into 10 portions and shape.
- 5
Roll out into circles about 6 inches in diameter, heat on a skillet, and store in a container with a clean cloth to keep them fluffy.
- 6
Slice the bell peppers and onion lengthwise, sauté with 1 tablespoon olive oil, add a little black pepper and a pinch of salt, sauté for just 1-2 minutes until slightly wilted.
- 7
Set aside the sautéed bell peppers and onion. Pan grill the marinated chicken until cooked, about 5-7 minutes, then add back the sautéed bell peppers and onion, mix, and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- 8
Serve with tortillas.
- 9
Enjoy brunch with warm tortillas... Perfect Sunday morning. 😍🤩😇
