Steps

In a bowl bowl add 1 cup makki a atta,1 cup gehu ka atta,2 tbsp ghee and salt to taste.

Mix makki ka atta,gehu ka atta,ghee, salt and rub with your fingers till the flour resembles bread crumbs.

Now add 1 medium size grated onion,2tsp grated ginger,2tsp grated garlic,2-3 tbsp spring onions,2-3 tbsp chopped tomatoes,2-3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves(reserve rest spring onion,fresh chopped coriander and tomatoes for topping),1chopped green chilli and 1 tsp res chilli in flour and mix well.

Mix all the ingredients well with flour.

Knead into stiff dough using very little water.(I used only 3 tbsp water to knead a dough)

Cover the dough with a wet muslin cloth and keep aside for 15 -20 minutes.

Heat a tawa on medium heat.

Take one dough ball, flatten it a little and dust it with dry flour.

Then roll into circle and keep pressing the sides.

Now spread some chopped tomatoes,spring onions and coriander leaves over rolled roti.

Gently spread and press chopped tomatoes, onions and coriander leaves over rolled roti.

Place roti on hot tawa facing topping part upwards.Let the tikkar roast for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.

Apply little ghee on the sides of roti and flip to other side.

Cook other side on medium flame till it turn golden brown in colour. cook by gently pressing to make crispy tikkar.

Remove cooked tikkar on plate and repeat same process to make other rotis.

Serve hot tikkar with curd,butter or pickle.
