A fun and frosty treat for summertime. It's so easy, even the kids can make it...no machine required. For the food coloring, gel works best in my opinion. Recipe adapted from : Ourfamilyofseven.com

Ingredients

15 mins
12 servings
  1. 2 cupsheavy whipping cream
  2. 1 can (14 oz.)sweetened condensed milk
  3. 1 tsp.vanilla extract
  4. blue food coloring, until your desired color is reached
  5. 20chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  6. 15chocolate chip cookies (like Chips Ahoy)

Cooking Instructions

15 mins
  1. 1

Coarsley chop 15 chocolate sandwich cookies and 10 chocolate chip cookies. Set aside.

  2. 2

Whip the heavy whipping cream, food coloring and vanilla extract in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.

  3. 3

Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and the crushed cookies. Use a rubber spatula to fold in everything until it's all incorporated. Add additional food coloring if needed or desired for a deeper blue.

  4. 4

Transfer the mixture to a freezer safe container. I usually use a loaf pan, which is the perfect size. I just line a loaf pan with plastic wrap, pour in the mixture, smooth the top, then wrap the plastic wrap tightly over the top.

  5. 5

Place it in the freezer for at least 8 hours. Then scoop it out to serve and enjoy!

I love to bake and to try out new recipes! I'm always on the lookout for simple dinners for busy weeknights. A lot of the recipes I post on here are ones I've found on Pinterest or from different bloggers, and that I've tried and really enjoyed, but I always reference to where I got the recipe from in the recipe description and the pictures are my own. If there's no source listed, then it's a rare recipe that I came up with. I have two wonderful kids and I hope to pass on my love of cooking and baking to them.
