Steps
- 1
Mix the sugars and almond flour together.
Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form, but do not overbeat.
Gently fold the egg whites into the almond flour mixture.
- 2
Preheat the oven to 465°F (240°C).
- 3
Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a round tip. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pipe small circles of batter about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches (3 to 4 cm) in diameter.
Dust all the macarons lightly with powdered sugar, then place in the oven and immediately lower the temperature to 340°F (170°C).
- 4
Bake for 15 minutes. The macarons should lift easily from the paper and be nicely golden.
- 5
As soon as they come out of the oven, transfer the macarons to a wire rack. Enjoy with tea or coffee as a snack.
