When I eat out at restaurants I’m constantly seeing menu items with different mayo’s and aioli’s. So my sister recently had Mahi Fish Tacos and it had Habanero-Avocado Mayo on it and she challenged me to make it. Not too difficult and I got the stamp of approval!

Ingredients

  • 1large egg
  • 1 1/4 CupVegetable Oil (Separated)
  • 3 tbsLemon Juice
  • 1 tbsChili Powder
  • 1 tspDry Mustard
  • 1 tspGarlic Salt
  • 1 tspSea Salt
  • 1 tspSugar
  • 1Medium Avocado
  • 1-2Habanero Peppers (stems removed. chopped. You can remove seeds if you want it less spicy but it’s not all that spicy in the first place)

Steps

  1. 1

    In a blender, blend egg, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, Habanero, chili powder, dry mustard, garlic salt, sea salt and sugar. Blend on high until well combined.

  2. 2

    While blender is still on, slowly pour in 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Blend well.

  3. 3

    Stop blender and add in avocado and lemon juice and continue blending until smooth.

  4. 4

    While blender is on, slowly pour in last 1/2 cup vegetable oil. It should be pretty thick by this time.
