Ingredients

Serves 3 servings
  1. 1 2/3 poundsRohu fish pieces (about 750 grams)
  2. 2 tablespoonsginger-garlic paste
  3. 2 tablespoonschickpea flour (besan)
  4. Salt, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, and chaat masala, to taste
  5. 1 tablespoondried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  6. 2 tablespoonslemon juice
  7. 1 pinchred food coloring
  8. 3 tablespoonsoil

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Rinse the fish pieces well after rubbing them with salt and turmeric.

    Mix salt, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, chickpea flour, and lemon juice with the fish pieces. Let them marinate for 10 minutes.

    Add red food coloring, then heat oil in a nonstick pan and shallow fry the marinated fish pieces.

    Sprinkle chaat masala and black pepper, and serve with sliced onions, lemon wedges, tomatoes, green chilies, cilantro, and mint chutney.
