Ingredients

45 minutes
2-3 servings
  • 500 gmsprawns (cleaned and washed)
  • 2chopped onions
  • 2chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  • 2green chillies
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 2bay leaves
  • 1/2 cupmustard oil
  • 1 tspchilli powder
  • 1 tspcoriander powder
  • 1 tspcumin powder
  • 1 tspgaram masala powder
  • as neededchopped coriander leaves
  • to tasteSalt

Steps

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Take a bowl, marinate prawns, with salt and turmeric powder.

  2. 2

    Heat a pan, add 2 tbsp oil and fry the prawns in a medium flame until it turns golden. Transfer into a plate and keep aside.

  3. 3

    Heat another pan, add 4-5 tbsp mustard oil and let it heat.

  4. 4

    Add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Let it fry for few seconds.

  5. 5

    Add green chillies, chopped onion and saute until the onions turn translucent.

  6. 6

    Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 3-4 minutes on a low to medium flame.

  7. 7

    Add chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Saute for 3-4 minutes in a low flame.

  8. 8

    Add chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and saute until the oil separates.

  9. 9

    Add fried prawns and saute for 2 minutes.

  10. 10

    Add 2 cups of water and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.

  11. 11

    Add garam masala powder. Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.

  12. 12

    Serve hot with steamed rice. Enjoy.
