Ingredients

35 minutes
  1. 1/3 cupoil or melted butter (about 80 ml)
  2. 1/3 cupsugar, honey, or granulated sweetener (about 65 grams)
  3. 1 pinchsalt
  4. 1egg
  5. 1 teaspoonflavoring of your choice, such as vanilla extract, a spice, or orange zest
  6. 1/2 cupold-fashioned rolled oats (about 45 grams)
  7. 1 1/2 cupsoat flour (about 150 grams; make by grinding rolled oats in a blender or food processor)
  8. 2 tablespoonsmilk (add only if your dough is too dry; about 30 ml)

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

    Mix the oil or melted butter with the sugar, sweetener, or honey and the pinch of salt. Then add the egg.

  3. 3

    Add the flavoring, spice, or zest you chose, along with the rolled oats.

  4. 4

    Add the oat flour. If you use honey, you may need more flour because of the extra liquid. If your dough is too dry, add milk.

  5. 5

    Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes. After resting, it will be less sticky. Grease a baking sheet with butter or oil. Take a bit of dough, form into balls, flatten them, and place on the baking sheet. I prefer this method because it's hard to roll out the dough.

  6. 6

    Bake for 10-15 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven. The cookies should be golden on the bottom and the oats well cooked. Let them cool.
