Rinse and wash moong lentil and rice together soak both of them 10 minutes.

Heat ghee,add cumin seeds,when cumin splutter add onion.

Once the onion soft,change into golden,the drained rice,moong lentil,water and salt.

Bring to a boil and then cook on high till most of the water dries up and the khichdi is at consistency you like,stir often from the sides and bottom to ensure the khichdi doesn't stick to the pan.

Once the khichdi is at your desired consistency,turn the heat down to the lowest,cover and steam for 5 minutes.

Once the khichdi is cooked then top it with ghee while serving. (optional step)

Serve hot with yogurt.
