Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupsgobindobhog,ambamohar or basmati rice
  2. 3 cupswater
  3. 2 tbspghee
  4. 1/2 tspjeera(cumin seeds)
  5. To tastesalt
  6. 1 tspcoriander chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.Sprinkle jeera and when it splutters add the rice.Add water and salt to taste.Close lid and pressure cook 2 whistles.Open lid after 5 minutes.Wait for sometime so that rice soaks the excess water.Sprinkle coriander and lightly toss.Serve with dal tadka or any spicy veg or non veg dish.

    Another way of cooking this rice is par boiling and discarding water.Heat ghee,sprinkle jeera and when it crackles,add rice and salt and coriander and toss.
