Cooking Instructions
- 1
Pre-heat the oven on 170/180 degrees. Prepare a cake tin, line it with baking paper, spread with butter and drizzle with a tiny bit of flour to stop it from sticking and remove the excess flour.
- 2
Start by peeling, quarter the apples and removing the core. Slice each quarter length wise into thin(ish) slices. Add the lemon juice to stop them from getting brown.
- 3
In a bowl mix the flour, the baking powder and the butter softened and cut into small pieces. With the tip of your fingers mix the flour and the butter until it makes a crumbly mixture.
- 4
Add the sugar, the egg and mix well.
- 5
Slowly add the milk to make the base more liquid, it needs to be a honey like consistency by this point.
- 6
Pour the mixture into the tin and let it spread evenly. Start to add the apples in a circular way all around the tin so to cover the base completely. You can top it up with a mixture of a couple of spoons of sugar and the cinnamon if you wish although be aware that the sugar will caramelise and make the cake dark on the top.
- 7
Cook in the oven for 40-50 minutes (depending on your oven) on the lowest level (if ventilated oven)
- 8
When cold you can decorate it with a sprinkle of icing sugar if you would like to. Serve alone or with a scoop of vanilla icecream

Apple Cake Apple Cake
I love apples. Not only they taste good raw, they also have so much potential in them: apple pies, applesauce, steamed apples (traditional Chinese dessert, good for sore throats), and finally apple cake! This simple recipe my favourite kind of apple cake. Basically you can just dump all the ingredients into a bowl, mix them up and pop it into the oven and you're good to go! Pair the cake with some ice cream and that is how you spellH-E-A-V-E-NPS. I used molasses sugar in the picture, that's why the cake is dark. Any sugar is fine, I have tried using gula melaka (coconut sugar) and honey. Just watch out for the consistency of the batter: I had to add a little more flour when using liquid sugar. Yoru -

Tray-bake Apple Cake Tray-bake Apple Cake
When I was a child, my mother always used to make this cake when apples were in season. You don't have to measure the ingredients exactly! You won't mess this up even if youjust roughly measure the ingredients using a cup!! Adjust the amount of sugar and lemon juice depending on the sourness of the apples you use. I used Fuji apples, but if you use baking apples, you may need to use about 1.5 times more sugar. Recipe by Megyumiruku cookpad.japan -

I don't think I've ever had a lighter or tastier apple cake, and I highly recommend it. I first saw this super easy and delicious recipe when the beloved Vasilis Kallidis made it on Eleni Menegaki's show a few years ago, and I was curious to try it because it's basically an apple cake with sponge cake on top—the flavor is truly amazing. Whenever I make it, it barely lasts until the next day! Γωγω..#Corfu..!!!Translated from Cookpad Greece
