This lovely bread is ideal for an afternoon snack. It's so tasty that you can have them with butter only, especially if they have just come out of the oven. So delicious and easy to make!

Ingredients

around 20 rolls
  1. 1 kgplain flour
  2. 6 tablespoonssugar
  3. 20 gsalt
  4. 20 gdry yeast (2 sachets of 10g) or 30 of fresh yeast
  5. 3eggs
  6. 2 TBSPmelted but not hot butter
  7. 450 mlmilk (warm)
  8. 1beaten egg for brushing

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In a bowl, place the flour, sugar, and salt. Mix everything very well.

  2. 2

    Then add the dry yeast and mix a bit more.
    Add eggs, butter, and warm milk. If you are using fresh yeast, dissolve it all in half of the milk before adding it to the flour.

  3. 3

    With your hands, mix and knead the dough. If you have a mixer, use the hook piece for kneading.

  4. 4

    Transfer it to a smooth surface and continue kneading the dough for about 10 minutes or until it is very smooth and homogeneous;
    TIP: if the dough is too soft, add a little flour if it is too dry, add a little bit of water.

  5. 5

    Return the dough to the bowl and cover it with a cloth;
    Let stand for 50 minutes;

  6. 6

    After that time, divide the dough into equal sizes;
    TIP: you can divide the dough into any size you like;
    Take each piece, open it, and roll to shape.

  7. 7

    Place the rolls in a greased and floured baking tray or lined with parchment paper, leaving a space for them to grow. After that, cover the rolls with a cloth and let stand for another 40 minutes or until doubled in size.

  8. 8

    Pre-heat the oven at 180ºC. Egg brush each roll. Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Hi fellow cooks! I am a "sauce" (read South 😂)American girl(older girl 😁) living in Bristol since 2007.I was born in Chile but grew up in Brazil, between two cultures, two languages, two food planets.Everything happened in the kitchen - the laughs, the dances, the pasta fights, the dog's invasion after each meal, and so on.Everyone in my family cooks.Since a young age, I saw my grandparents, my parents, my sister, my brothers, aunties & uncles and everyone else around me trying to feed me, all the time! It doesn't happen anymore, I have to do it now, for myself and for my family. I feed everyone!Here you will find some of those old recipes and some new ones.Also, you will see that my cooking skills come with nice food photos too.See you in the kitchen!
