Tomato, Onions Rava Upma

Rava Upma is my favourite breakfast recipe. It's a South indian dish and I have adopted this delicious, fulfilling and flavorful with curry leaves Upma plate as my brunch sometimes. Tody , this simple recipe is made with tomatoes and onions and it's wonderful.

Rava Upma is my favourite breakfast recipe. It's a South indian dish and I have adopted this delicious, fulfilling and flavorful with curry leaves Upma plate as my brunch sometimes. Tody , this simple recipe is made with tomatoes and onions and it's wonderful.
Cooking Instructions

Heat oil and ghee in a deep pan. Add mustard and allow to crackle.

Now add both the dals, hing and curry leaves. Saute till curry leaves are crispy and aromatic.

Next mix onion and fry till translucent.

Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, salt and saute till tomatoes are soft.

Then pour water,mix well and bring to boil. Add sambar masala powder (I used MTR 777 Sambar masala powder)

Slow down the flame and add roasted semolina little at a time to avoid lumps formation.

Delicious Tomato, Onion Upma is ready to serve with sambar/chutney/sheera. I prefer as such.
