Ingredients

  1. 1 bowl Ragi Dalia (nachni thick rava)
  2. 1/2 tsp.Mustard seeds (rai)
  3. 1/2 tsp.Whole Cumin (Jeera)
  4. 1/8 tsp.Asafoetida (hing powder)
  5. 1/3 tsp.Turmeric powder (haldi)
  6. 1 sprigFew curry leaves (kadipatta)
  7. 1onion, chopped
  8. 2green chillies, chopped
  9. 1tomato, chopped
  10. 1/2bell pepper (capsicum), chopped
  11. as per tastesalt

Cooking Instructions

    Soak ragi dalia in water for 10 mins.

    Boil 2.5 times the quantity of water

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a Kadai, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves, haldi powder.

    Add chopped onion, green chillies, tomato, bell pepper and sauté.

  5. 5

    Add the Ragi Dalia after discarding water in which it is soaked. Add the boiled water and stir occasionally.

    Allow it to cook till it bubbles on low-medium flame. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking. Add salt (1/2 tsp) or as per taste. Add sugar 1 tsp.

    Allow it to cook well till water dries up. Add some coriander leaves and mix well. Switch off flame and add dash of lime.

    Cover for sometime and then remove cover and garnish with more coriander leaves and serve hot.
