Crispy Naked Air-Fried Chicken Wings

Jillian Dudek
Jillian Dudek @jilliandudek

These crispy air-fried wings were inspired by my go-to game day and party favorite—especially for the Super Bowl. They're always a crowd-pleaser, and since they're served “naked,” everyone can customize with their favorite sauces… or enjoy them just as they are!

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

Pat wings very dry with paper towels — this helps with crisping.

  2. 2

Toss wings with olive oil in a large bowl until coated.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, mix together the baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and breadcrumbs (optional), then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the wings and toss to coat.

  4. 4

Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  5. 5

Arrange wings in a single layer in the basket (cook in batches if needed).

  6. 6

Cook the wings for 12 minutes, flip them, then cook the second side for 8–12 minutes, optionally raising the temperature to 400°F for the final 2–3 minutes for extra crispiness.

  7. 7

Wings should reach an internal temperature of 165°F, with skin that’s golden, blistered, and crispy.

  8. 8

Let the wings rest for 5 minutes before serving them plain or with your favorite sauces like buffalo, BBQ, ranch, or honey mustard.

  9. 9

Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, air fry at 375°F for 5–8 minutes until hot and crispy.

I love cooking tasty meals—whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a snack. Balancing motherhood and life can limit time, so I focus on dishes that are simple, satisfying, and quick to make. My go-to kitchen staples are the air fryer for speedy dinners and the crockpot for those set-it-and-forget-it days. I aim to pack protein into meals to keep them filling while still focusing on quality. Baking isn’t my strong suit, but I’m always open to trying a new recipe. I hope you find something here that makes your day a little easier—and tastier. I'm also excited to discover recipes from others and connect with fellow cooking enthusiasts.
