Ingredients

  1. 1 cupWheat flour -
  2. 3 tbspGhee -
  3. 1 tbspMilk powder -
  4. 1/4 tspBaking soda -
  5. as required Ghee for frying
  6. 1cupMilk-
  7. For Sugar syrup-
  8. 3/4 cupWater
  9. 1 1/4 cupSugar -
  10. 1 tspcardamom powder -

Cooking Instructions

    Heat up 1tbsp ghee in a pan.now put wheat flour in the ghee and roast it on low flame.

    When the flour turns slightly brown, turn off the gas and take out the flour in a plate and cool down.

    Add milk powder,2tbsp ghee, and baking soda.Mix well.

    Add milk.Mix well and knead it into dough.

    Transfer the dough into a bowl, cover and let it rest for about 20mins.

    Take sugar in a pan and add water.

    Heat up on medium heat until all sugar dissolves.

    Once sugar dissolves, increase the heat to high and bring the syrup to boil.

    Once syrup begins to boil lower the heat to medium and cook for 4-5 minutes more.

    The consistency for the syrup should be close to single thread.

    Add cardamom powder. You can also add saffron.Mix well and turn off the gas. Sugar syrup is ready.

    Take the dough and knead it once more.

    Take a small ball smaller in size and roll it into smooth ball.

    Heat up ghee on medium heat. Fry gulab jamun on low to medium heat.

    When ghee is enough hot, drop gulab jamun in it and sprinkle ghee on them with spoon.

    Fry gulab jamun stirring continuously for about 5-6mins.

    When they get reddish colour, take them out of ghee and drop in hot sugar syrup.

    After dropping, coat them with syrup really good.

    Garnish with Pistachio.Gulab jamun are ready to eat.
