Okonomiyaki ~ Japanese flavor

this recipe looks a bit complicated, but the fact is quite simple when you try it once, and also you can make your own recipe of Okonomiyaki, put every kind food that you like in it, Pork, beef, seafood, vegetables .... or just to use your leftovers to make it . it's easier to make with a household teppanyaki, or a non-stick frying pan is ok too . ^_^

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. Okonomiyaki Batter
  2. 200 gall-purpose flour
  3. 1 tablespooncorn flour
  4. 1/2 tspsalt
  5. 1 tspbonito powder
  6. 300 ccwater
  7. Ingredient Ⅱ
  8. 750 gchopped cabbage
  9. 3eggs
  10. 1/2 cupchopped green onions
  11. 1/2 cupshred onions
  12. 1/4 cupshred carrot
  13. some shelled fresh shrimps
  14. some sliced neritic squid
  15. little chopped ginger (option)
  16. little oil
  17. 230 gsliced streaky pork; marbled meat
  18. Toppings
  19. okonomiyaki sauce or yakisoba sauce
  20. Mayonnaise
  21. Katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes)
  22. shred laver,dried seaweed or called nori)

Cooking Instructions

    In a large bowl, combine all Okonomiyaki batter ingredients together and mix well.

    Put all IngredientsⅡinto the blow of mixed Okonomiyaki Batter, except pork, and Mix all until well-combined.

    Put a bit oil in the household teppanyaki or a non-stick frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. spread the batter in a circle on the pan, and make its thickness about 1.5 to 2 cm.

    Place sliced pork on top of Okonomiyaki and cook covered until the bottom side is golden brown, then flip it over. (If you can not make sure to flip it easy, then you could make it thin, and make 2 pieces of Okonomiyaki with this recipe or you can use a big plate to help for flipping

    Flip it again when the other side is also nicely browned, and brush okonomiyaki sauce or yakisoba sauce on cooked Okonomiyaki, then add mayonnaise nicely, and put some Katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) on top of mayonnaise, and then some shred laver.

    Cut it into 4 and serving hot.

    PS, if you don't have okonomiyaki sauce or yakisoba sauce, simply use oyster sauce instead.
