Ingredients

5 mins
10 servings
  1. 3 cupTeriyaki Sauce
  2. 1 cupSoy Sauce
  3. 1/2Bottle of Beer (I use IPA's for there hoppyness and spice)
  4. 1 cupGarlic Powder
  5. 2 1/2lbs salt

Cooking Instructions

5 mins
  1. 1

Have your local butcher slice the roast as thin as possible without the meat breaking apart. Most recipes call for thicker slices but the thinner slice absorbs the marinade better and allows the meat to dehydrate faster.

  2. 2

Once home cut the roast into desired size strips. I prefer about 1 inch strips.

  3. 3

Add roast to a big mixing bowl. Add all ingredients to meat and mix with hands.

  4. 4

Place in refrigerator for 12 hours for marinating.

  5. 5

Remove oven racks and cover bottom rack with aluminium foil to catch any drippings. Place bottom rack back in oven at lowest point.

  6. 6

    Preheat oven to 160°F

  7. 7

Place beef strips stretched out along the other rack. Put roast covered rack in the middle of oven.

  8. 8

Cook beef with oven door half way open for 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your oven.

  9. 9

Set beef jerky out to cool. Now enjoy it with that case of beer you just bought!

  10. 10

Loved the recipe! just a few changes I suggest, I added 175 ml of Worcestershire sauce and about 12 finely chopped Birdseye chillies if you like it spicy, also instead of that much garlic I used 1 fresh garlic cluster and then about 2 tablespoons of garlic salt! found it less garlicy but really nice flavor! hope it helps :) ps. loved the beer idea!
