Cooking Instructions
- 1
Have your local butcher slice the roast as thin as possible without the meat breaking apart. Most recipes call for thicker slices but the thinner slice absorbs the marinade better and allows the meat to dehydrate faster.
- 2
Once home cut the roast into desired size strips. I prefer about 1 inch strips.
- 3
Add roast to a big mixing bowl. Add all ingredients to meat and mix with hands.
- 4
Place in refrigerator for 12 hours for marinating.
- 5
Remove oven racks and cover bottom rack with aluminium foil to catch any drippings. Place bottom rack back in oven at lowest point.
- 6
Preheat oven to 160°F
- 7
Place beef strips stretched out along the other rack. Put roast covered rack in the middle of oven.
- 8
Cook beef with oven door half way open for 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your oven.
- 9
Set beef jerky out to cool. Now enjoy it with that case of beer you just bought!

I just really wanted to try making some beef jerky. The meat will look terrible if you use thin slices so try to use thicker pieces. If you cut the pieces quite small then they'll probably cook faster. Please adjust the cooking time depending on the type of oven you are using. My fiancée and I started dieting. We wanted to keep the carbs down so we had to make our own jerky, without sugar. This recipe is not spicy, at all. She can't handle heat. Jarrod Milstead -

Spicy Beef Jerky Spicy Beef Jerky
This Spicy Beef Jerky is packed with bold flavors and inspired by my love for Sichuan spices. The mix of numbing peppercorns, smoky chili flakes, and savory goodness makes it a favorite snack. I love it fresh out of the dehydrator, still warm and chewy. It’s perfect for road trips or anytime I want a flavorful, protein-packed bite! Enjoy! Dandanyummyfood -

Making this recipe will be shy of that limit, but it's makes up a significant portion. Keep in mind your red meat consumption throughout the week and also opt for more fish based meals if you give a shit about your health.Eye of round beef: calories/454 gramsBrown sugar: 102 calories/28 gramsWorcestershire sauce: 54 calories/69 gramsCrushed red pepper: 18 calories/6 gramsSoy sauce: 17 calories/32 gramsGarlic powder: 10 calories/3 gramsOnion powder: 8 calories/2 gramsGround black pepper: 6 calories/2 grams911 calories total, 456 calories per serving Robert Coyle
