I just threw this together tonight and my hubby LOVED it! I served it with Brussel sprouts and it was off the chain! but I bet some cabbage with this would be on point! :)

Ingredients

  1. 1 packagesPolish sausage, sliced (I used a 9 oz pkg)
  2. 1/2 largeOnion, sliced
  3. 1 mediumBell pepper, sliced ( any color is fine, I used green)
  4. 4 cloveGarlic, roughly chopped
  5. 1/2 cupLong grain white rice
  6. 1 1/2 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  7. 1 tbspMustard (any kind is fine I used sweet/hot)
  8. 1 1/2 cupHot water
  9. 1Beef Bouillon cube
  10. 1Poultry season, black pepper, and sugar
  11. 1/2 tbspButter or margarine

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Place skillet over low heat. Add butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion, bell pepper, garlic and sausage. Cover and cook till soft. (You will want to keep the eye on low. You need to "sweat" the veggies lol)

  2. 2

Meanwhile add bouillon cube to hot water

  3. 3

When veggies are done season with poultry season and black pepper. (Poultry seasoning has sage in it which is pretty stout if you use a lot so use sparingly) stir in mustard. Add sugar to taste.

  4. 4

Add rice and bouillon broth to skillet. Bring to a boil, stir, reduce heat to low. Cover and cook about 15 minutes. Or until rice is done and liquid is absorbed.
