Shaanka Fish Sandwich Shaanka Fish Sandwich
What is “Shaanka”? You would ask. It’s not a what, it’s a who.“Shaanka “ is a term of endearment that we used to call our daughter.Shaanka is a patient and empathetic person. The traits she got from her father. She is very strong in mind, a trait she inherited from my mother. She is happily married, the second time, to a young man we call Best-Son-in-Law-Ever. No need to tell you the reason we call him with that term of endearment.I thank God for that.Back to the recipe.Ansley Eats the Street, Season 1: episode 1, Istanbul Street foods. This episode inspired me to create this recipe. In the show, a fish sandwich with grilled mackerel was served on a bed of veggies that seemed like to have been seasoned in some kind of dressing.Having no clues of what exactly was in the original recipe, I decided to create my own. As Shaanka is very adventurous in trying new thing, I named this recipe after “her name”. 2choi -

Subway-style Sandwich Subway-style Sandwich
This time, I used ham that is easy to get, but if you use turkey ham, it would be much more like the original! If you use black olives, it's even more like Subway's.You can use your desired amount of vegetables, but if you use too much, it's a bit hard to sandwich the ingredients, so be careful. If you like softer bread, you can use a hot dog bun. In that case, be careful about the amount of vegetables. Due to the moisture, the bread will soon get soggy, so pat the vegetables dry with a paper towel. Recipe by Furaingupanke-ki cookpad.japan -
Breaded Chicken Sandwich Breaded Chicken Sandwich
I saw a fabulous steak sandwich recipe from youtube. The original one using skirt meat, and sun dried tomato mayonnaise, but since I have romaine lettuce left over and some tomatoes that urgently need to be cooked, and KFC chicken breast that bought by my hubby. So, voila!! I made some modifications on the recipe and using grilled tomatoes instead as the substitute, because I cannot find sun dried tomatoes in here. 😅Here is the link of original recipe from youtube:https://youtu.be/YYfJtRUKTzk Yanny Widjanarko -
Peppered Beef, Eggs, and Cheese Sandwich Peppered Beef, Eggs, and Cheese Sandwich
I like the taste of peppered beef. Brown buttered eggs are amazing. Then the seriously sharp Vermont white cheddar cheese, all three in one place equals a delicious sandwich. If you want the eggs golden the just as the butter melts add the eggs and scramble them fast so as no color but beautiful golden eggs. I just like the browned butter with beef, so I improvised it to the eggs too. skunkmonkey101 -
