Cooking Instructions

50 to 55 mins

  2. 2

    Filling
    1. Pressure cook the chana dal on low heat till 5 to 6 whistles.
    2. When the pressure settles down open the cooker and drain off the water completely.
    3. Then mash the dal properly. Add sugar and cook stirring continuously till the mixture thickens and starts to separate the pan.
    4. Remove from heat and add nutmeg powder or cardamom powder.
    5. Mix well. The Puran (stuffing) is ready to make paratha.

Roll 1 portion of the dough in to a small circle. Put a portion of the above stuffing in the middle, and close it by bringing all the edges in the middle and roll it again to make it a paratha (poli)

  4. 4

Heat a griddle and cook the paratha on both the sides till light brown in colour using a little ghee.

  5. 5

Repeat with the remaining dough and stuffing to make 5 more parathas.
