This is my own easy recipe for homemade pizza sauce. The below makes enough for approximately one large pizza. Increase all ingredients for more sauce. My family likes a very sweet pizza sauce. If you don't want it to be very sweet instead of grape/cherry tomatoes use 4 cans of crushed tomatoes and only 1/4 a cup of Sugar.

Ingredients

  1. 24 oztomato paste
  2. 1 clovegarlic
  3. 1 tbssalt
  4. 1 tbspepper
  5. 1/2 cupsugar
  6. 2 tbsoregano
  7. 1 tbsthyme
  8. 1 tbsbasil
  9. 8cherry/grape tomatoes
  10. 1 tbsbutter
  11. 1 tbslemon juice
  12. 1/2 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

    Empty tomato paste into saucepan on low heat.

    In a separate pan, cook garlic in virgin olive oil and butter until you have a golden brown liquid, then add lemon juice. Simmer on med or low heat.

    Put cherry tomatoes, oregano, basil, thyme, and 1/2 cup water into blender. Pour garlic sauce into mix with or without garlic pieces. Liquify in blender.

    Pour blended mix into saucepan with paste and stir thoroughly.

    Add salt, pepper, and sugar to sauce.

    Bring to boil then reduce heat. Keep warm on low until ready to pour on crust.
