Ingredients

  1. 1carrot
  2. 1onion
  3. 1 clovegarlic
  4. Slick of oil
  5. Cuplentils
  6. 2 tinstomatoes
  7. Baby food
  8. Baby milk (breast milk or formula)
  9. Adult portion
  10. Stock

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prep ingredients and chop vegetables

  2. 2

Add vegetables to a pan with a slick of oil. Not too much due to the baby food. Cook on a medium to low heat

  3. 3

When vegetables are soft, add chopped tomatoes, lentils and a bit of water and increase the hob heat for a simmer and keep stirring so lentils don’t stick (hard with a baby in your arms!)

  4. 4

When lentils are cooked and soft remove a portion into a small pan. This small pan will be the baby food portion

  5. 5

To the baby food portion add a bit of water to help with blending and cook for a bit longer. When satisfied it’s cooked. Leave to cool.

  6. 6

With the remaining big pot add stock and continue to cook. You may want to add optional paprika. Once stock had cooked through your adult sauce is ready 🙌

  7. 7

Baby food prep: with the small pan - once this is cool. Add to the blender with your chosen baby milk (either breast or formula). Add enough milk to create the consistency appropriate for your baby. Younger babies will want more milk.

  8. 8

Note on storage. For baby food mixed with breast milk this can be kept in the fridge for 3 days from when the milk was pumped and 6 months in the freezer. For formula follow your providers instructions.
