Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prep ingredients and chop vegetables
- 2
Add vegetables to a pan with a slick of oil. Not too much due to the baby food. Cook on a medium to low heat
- 3
When vegetables are soft, add chopped tomatoes, lentils and a bit of water and increase the hob heat for a simmer and keep stirring so lentils don’t stick (hard with a baby in your arms!)
- 4
When lentils are cooked and soft remove a portion into a small pan. This small pan will be the baby food portion
- 5
To the baby food portion add a bit of water to help with blending and cook for a bit longer. When satisfied it’s cooked. Leave to cool.
- 6
With the remaining big pot add stock and continue to cook. You may want to add optional paprika. Once stock had cooked through your adult sauce is ready 🙌
- 7
Baby food prep: with the small pan - once this is cool. Add to the blender with your chosen baby milk (either breast or formula). Add enough milk to create the consistency appropriate for your baby. Younger babies will want more milk.
- 8
Note on storage. For baby food mixed with breast milk this can be kept in the fridge for 3 days from when the milk was pumped and 6 months in the freezer. For formula follow your providers instructions.

Tomato Sauce Tomato Sauce
I learned this while I was abroad. This is an easy version that's light on the oil. It's a simple and delicious all-purpose sauce with no frills!Be sure not to burn the garlic when cooking it. You can make various versions by adding meat, vegetables, white sauce, sour cream, curry powder, etc. If you want to have a thicker sauce, you can add some katakuriko potato starch to adjust the thickness. Pretty nice meatballs; leftovers can be frozen; use salt reduced paste and stock, and do not add extra salt to the sauce, or else it might be a bit too salty. (Pic has capsicum instead of celery, this recipe is great for substituting veggies) Saffie La Rue -
Easy White Sauce for Casseroles and Gratinées Easy White Sauce for Casseroles and Gratinées
You can make this white sauce in no time. I add bacon and ketchup into leftover rice, and pour over white sauce to make an easy doria, or make a small amount of the sauce to make gratin with toasted bread, or use it in a bento box. Sometimes I add more milk to make a thinner sauce, and pour it over omurice as well. The strength of gluten in the bread flour will easily produce a smooth sauce without fail, but you can produce good results with cake flour as well. Chilled Pasta with Avocado and Basil Sauce Chilled Pasta with Avocado and Basil Sauce
I love pasta with avocado and basil sauce, but over the years, since the flavor has gotten a bit overpowering, I've been adding lemon juice; But adding ponzu brought the flavors together and it was tasty The tartness of the tomatoes is also a perfect match. I use my own recipe for the basil sauce.Adjust the amount of basil sauce to taste. Since the flavor of store-bought basil sauce varies, you may need to add more flavor with grated cheese and a pinch of consommé stock granules. It's also tasty if you chop up a small pat of cream cheese and mix it into the pasta. Recipe by putimiko cookpad.japan -

Basic Tomato Sauce Basic Tomato Sauce
All-purpose, basic tomato sauce is not just limited to italian dishes - it's adaptable in many ways, so please try this out.If sterilizing jars is too much work, you can freeze the sauce in ziplock bags. The reason why I used different size jars is that I use different amounts when use the tomato sauce for making pizza sauce vs. making pasta sauce. I haven't added any spices or herbs, and just a minimal amount of salt, so that the sauce can stay flexible enough to be used in various recipes. Recipe by Ulisse cookpad.japan -
