Best HOMEMADE Banana Pudding

It's a no-bake vanilla pudding recipe that fits perfectly with Bananas and Vanilla Wafers. Can add 1/3 cup Cocoa for Chocolate Pudding (would add along with milk, I believe). Was on an old recipe card from my grandmother, and it's a recipe that has stood the test of time. Try it for yourself and see! There's no other recipe like it.

NOTE: The picture has the wafers crumbled as my mother in law doesn't have teeth. If you leave them whole, they will soften in the fridge but I didn't want to take a chance with her. Personally, I like them whole.

Ingredients

60 mins
16 servings
  1. 1 cupSugar
  2. 3Eggs
  3. 2 TbspsFlour
  4. 2 cupsMilk
  5. 1 tspVanilla Extract
  6. 4Ripe Bananas
  7. 1 BoxNilla Wafers

Cooking Instructions

60 mins
  1. 1

Mix sugar and eggs in a medium saucepan

  2. 2

Add flour and milk, stirring to combine

  3. 3

Bring to a boil, stirring frequently and cook until thickened. Use the wooden spoon method (dip spoon onto pudding and drag your finger in a straight line through the pudding on the spoon. If it dribbles into the line you made, it's not ready).

  4. 4

Stirring frequently is important or it will burn and not look pretty

  5. 5

Once thickened, take off heat and continue stirring to cool. Add vanilla.

  6. 6

Pour over a vanilla wafer and banana layer in an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish. Double recipe for a thick 13x9 dish. Repeat.

  7. 7

Refrigerate 1 hr for best results
