Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsall purpose flour
  2. 5-6 tablespoondry urad dal
  3. 1/2 kgsugar
  4. 1/2 tablespooncardamom powder
  5. as requiredOil for deep frying
  6. 2 cupswater
  7. 1 pinchsaffron
  8. 1 pinchsalt
  9. 3 cupswater for sugar syrup
  10. 1/2 tablespoonbaking powder

    Make sugar syrup first. In a pan, put sugar and water and boil it till one string syrup is form. Add saffron and cardamom powder in it. Keep aside

    In a mixer grinder,grind the urad dal till it’s smooth powder.

    In a mixing bowl, sieve all purpose flour, urad dal powder, baking powder and a pinch of salt.

    Now add 2 cups of water and mix well so that no lumps are form. The consistency should not be much thick or much watery. Add water if required.

    Now, heat oil in a bottom flat pan in medium heat. Pour the batter in a piping bag and cut the end for a small hole. Start making rounds over the oil as jalebi size.

    Fry them till golden in colour in medium low heat and take them out from oil and put directly in the sugar syrup. So that it soaks the sugar syrup. Take them out from the syrup after 2-3 minutes and serve
