Ingredients

  1. 1 bowlRajma(kidney beans)
  2. 5 bowlswater
  3. 2 tbspcooking oil
  4. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  5. 1onion
  6. 2tomatoes
  7. 4-6 podsgarlic
  8. 1" piece ginger
  9. 2green chillies
  10. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  11. To taste salt
  12. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  13. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  14. 1/2 tspcoriander seeds powder
  15. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  16. 1/4 tspMDH rajma masala

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and Soak kidney beans for 4 hours in Water.

    Transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add water and salt and close the lid.

  3. 3

    Pressure cook till 10 minutes after the first whistle on medium flame. Switch off the flame. Let pressure release automatically.

    Wash, peel, and chop onion garlic, ginger, tomato, and green chili. Transfer it to a mixer and grind to a fine paste.

    Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put ground paste in it and cook on low flame till it turns golden brown. It may take 10-12 minutes.

    Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander seeds powder, garam masala, and rajma masala and mix well. Sauté for 1 minute.

    Now add boiled rajma in it with water in which it was boiled. Adjust the consistency of water if needed.

    Place the lid and pressure cook for 5 minutes after the first whistle on medium flame. Switch off the flame. Let pressure release automatically.

    Now open the lid and add garam masala and chopped coriander leaves.

    Serve hot with chapatti or rice.
