Ingredients

45 minutes
serves 4 servin
  1. 1and 1/2 cup pigeon pea dal(tur dal)
  2. 1small onion
  3. 1small tomato
  4. 3,4green chillies
  5. 2 teaspoonschopped garlic
  6. 1 teaspoon red chilly powder
  7. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  8. 1 teaspoonroasted jeera powder
  9. 2 tbspnoil
  10. FewCurry leaves
  11. FewCoriander leaves
  12. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  13. 1/2 tspasafoetida, mustard seeds each

Cooking Instructions

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Cook tur dal in a pressure cooker. Heat deep pan
    Add oil once hot add mustard seeds, chopped garlic, chilies, saute, add onion, tomatoes, saute till mushy.

    Add curry leaves and coriander leaves saute till aromatic, add turmeric powder, asafoetida, cumin powder, saute add cooked dal. Cook for 5 minutes. Add red chilly powder, garam masala, salt.

    Cook for five more minutes. Serve hot with jeera rice or steam rice.
