Ingredients

  1. 1 cupToor dal
  2. 200 gramsDrumsticks
  3. 2 tbspTamrind pulp
  4. 1onion
  5. 1/4 cupBottle Gourd
  6. 1/2 pcPotato
  7. Few curry leaves
  8. 1/4 cupfresh coconut
  9. 1Dry red chilli
  10. 1 tspUrad dal
  11. 1 tspMustard seeds
  12. 1/4 tspFenugreek seeds
  13. 1 tbspSambhar masala
  14. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  15. 1 tspRed chilli powder
  16. 1/2 tspAsafoetida
  17. as per taste Salt
  18. Few Curry leaves
  19. 1 tbspOil

Cooking Instructions

    Wash Toor dal and soak for 1/2hr. Mix fenugreek seeds and soak. Peel drumsticks and make long pieces and Wash.

    Now Heat oil in a pan crackle Urad dal mustard seeds. Add dry red chilli asafoetida and few curry leaves. Saute for a min. Now add onion cubes Bottle gourd cubes potato cubes and drumsticks. Add Sambhar masala turmeric powder red chilli powder and coarsely crushed fresh coconut saute. Now add 1cup of water and stir.

    Now boil dal add salt turmeric powder and 1/2tsp. Sambhar masala. Stir. And whistle 4-5.
    Now turn off the flame allow it to cool.

    Now open the like and just stir it dal and add drumsticks onion potato to tadka mixture. Add 1/2glass off the water and cook on med. Flame to low flame. Lastly, add tamarind pulp mix it well. And cover cook on low flame for 10 min. Tasty Healthy Sambhar is ready to serve.
    Serve with idli dosa menu vada or plain rice.
