Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 2 cupspoha (flatten rice)
  2. 1 tspmustard seeds
  3. 1 tspcumin seeds
  4. 1 tspasafoetida (hing)
  5. 1 tspfennel seeds powder
  6. 1 tspturmeric powder
  7. 1 tbspsugar
  8. 2 tbsplemon juice
  9. to tasteRock Salt
  10. 3green chillies finely chopped
  11. Handfulcurry leaves
  12. 2 tbspgrated coconut
  13. 1 tbsppeanut oil

Cooking Instructions

    Clean and sieve the flatten rice(poha).
    Wash and soak them in water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and put in a colander for 15 minutes.

    On a low flame, heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. As they crackle, add asafoetida and turmeric powder. Add green chillies and curry leaves. Sauté.

    Immediately add the flattened rice, fennel seeds powder, sugar, salt and lemon juice.

    Gently mix well. Garnish with fresh coriander, grated fresh coconut and serve hot.
