Ingredients

  1. 1 cuppoha/chiwda, preferably thin
  2. 1 cupsour curd
  3. 1/4 tsphing/asafoetida
  4. 1/2 tspturmeric/haldi
  5. 1 tspginger and green chilli paste
  6. 1 tspfruit salt
  7. to tasteSalt
  8. 1 tspoil
  9. 1 tspmustard seeds
  10. 8-10curry leaves
  11. 2 tbspcoriander leaves

Cooking Instructions

    Wash the poha. Preferably take thin poha, so no soaking required.

    Put the washed poha in a bowl, add curd, ginger-chilli paste, hing and salt. Mix well. Grind in a grinder if required, add water to make a medium thick batter of pouring consistency.

    Add fruit salt to the mixture and mix well till frothy and nearly double the quantity. Divide this into two portions and mix turmeric in one portion.

    Grease microwave proof dishes and pour the portions separately. Microwave, covered on high for 4-5 minutes. Check with a tooth pick and cool and unmould.

    Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. As they splutter, add curry leaves and switch off flame. Pour this tempering on the dhokla.

    Cut the dhokla into desired shapes. Serve garnished with coriander along with chutney of your choice.
