These are delicious and healthy calcium ,iron rich bars can be enjoyed any time for instant energy.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Chop figs and dates and soak in hot water for 30min. Then grind to coarse paste.

Lightly roast oats, almonds,cashews,pistas and grind to coarse powder.
- 3
Heat ghee in a pan add fig paste and cook till it dries moisture then add oats mixture, cranberry,mixedseeds orange zest combine it.

Now transfer the mixture to the lined tray and level it and keep it in the fridge for half an hour.

Cut in bars,fig bars ready.
- 6
Enjoy.

This recipe is packed full of both quick and sustained energy for a convenient grab and go breakfast or pick me up snack.It is very adaptable. I like to make with chopped macadamias, hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, pepitas, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds. I've also added cacao nibs. Whatever I have in pantry. For fruit I like to use cranberries and raisins but is fun to try different variations.The final bars can be a little crumbly, depending on the mix, so we keep in the freezer and they are best when eaten straight away, without thawing. My daughter loves granola bars, so we usually have them in the house, but I have yet to find a flavor that I really love. So I decided to try my own mix of ingredients. That's the great thing about homemade granola bars. As long as you stick to the base recipe for the binder (the butter, honey and brown sugar) and the same amounts of ingredients, you can add pretty much whatever ingredients sound good to you at the time. These bars are just the right mix of salty and sweet and keep you filled up between meals. Or they make a good breakfast, served with some fresh fruit. Christina -
