Ingredients

15 minutes
2 - 3 serves
  1. 1 cupboiled mixed veggies (french beans, carrots & green peas)
  2. 1 cupsemolina (rava)
  3. 1 tbspoil
  4. 1 tspmustard seeds
  5. 1 tspurad dal
  6. For spiced hot water :
  7. 2 tspgreen chilli - ginger paste
  8. 2 tsplemon juice
  9. 2 tspsugar
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 3 1/2 cupshot water
  12. Mixed veggies & chopped coriander to garnish

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Spiced hot water : Take 3 1/2 cups of water in a pan. Add green chilli - ginger paste, salt, sugar & lemon juice. Mix & heat the water.Cover & keep it aside.

    Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds & urad dal. Let the mustard seeds splutter, then add curry leaves & asafoetida. Add semolina & roast it till pink in colour & aroma is released.

    Add boiled veggies & spiced hot water. Mix very well & stir continuously till all the water is absorbed by the semolina & the upma is cooked well.

    Take a bowl & press the hot upma in it. Invert the bowl on the serving plate. Garnish the upma with boiled veggies & chopped coriander. Serve immediately.
