We always love chocolate recipes in sweet form. But chocolate also gives a unique flavor and taste if added to hot dishes. A dash of dark chocolate or cocoa powder will change to a great taste to your regular hot curries. Here I made a unique dish with minced meat, kidney beans and pumpkin with chilli and cocoa powder.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupminced meat or keema (mutton)
  2. 1 cupboiled red or white kidney beans or a mixer of two
  3. 2big tomatoes roughly chopped
  4. 1chopped onion
  5. 1 tbspginger-garlic paste
  6. 2 Cupscubed pumpkin pieces or sweet potatoes pieces
  7. 1 tspcumin powder
  8. 1&1/2 tsp coriander powder
  9. 2 tspred chilli powder
  10. 1 tspunsweetened cocoa powder
  11. 1bay leave
  12. to tasteSalt
  13. 1 pinchsugar
  14. 3 tbspcooking oil

Cooking Instructions

    Heat a big pan with cooking oil. Add bay leave.

    Add chopped onion and saute till onions become soft.

  3. 3

    In the meantime grind tomatoes into puree.

  4. 4

    Add ginger-garlic paste to the soft onions and fry for a minute.

  5. 5

    Add the minced meat or keema and stir continuously.

  6. 6

    Break the minced meat with spatula so that they will not make lumps.

    Cook for 3-4 minutes'and then add cumin, coriander and chilli powder.

    Mix well. Add salt and sugar.

    Add the prepared tomato puree.

    Mix well. Add the boiled kidney beans and pumpkin.Mix well.

    Add 1 cup of hot water, cover and cook for 10 minutes in low heat.

    After 10 minutes remove the lid, add a teaspoon of cocoa powder. Give it a mix.

    Cook for another 5 minutes. Check the consistency of the curry. You can add water if you like thin consistency.

    Check the seasoning. You will find a complex beautiful flavor of cocoa and other spices.

    Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish as you like and enjoy with steam rice, pita bread or chapati.
