Leave butter, sour cream, and egg until they are room temp.

Grease a pan or a line of parchment paper.

Center a rack in the oven and preheat to 350F.

In a small bowl, combine all dry ingredients and whisk well.

In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy.

Add sugar and beat until thick and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and mix well.

Whisk in cream, banana, and vanilla. Mix well.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.

Use a spatula to gently fold until about halfway combined.

Add chocolate chips and continue to fold the batter.

Fold until chocolate is distributed and batter is combined.

DO NOT over mix.

Pour batter into the pan and smooth the top.

Give the pan a rap on the counter to get rid of air bubbles.

Bake 20-25 mins and test with a toothpick.

Remove from the oven and put the pan on a wire rack.

Allow the banana bars to cool completely in the pan.

Cut and serve.
