My youngest son , school teacher had made this an assignment for earth week.... had the options to make them if we could, but she also made a video for the class and it was a writing assessment on the steps on how to make them... so we was lucky to have everything on hand to try and make these cookies..... food coloring is something I don’t keep on hand bc I don’t like cooking or baking with it, but I was very lucky to find some hiding in the back of my cabinet. He was excited that we could make these and add pictures to his assessment slide show he had to do if we made them.I love earthly things, we do things all year not just on earth day /earth earth week. Perfect sugar cookie recipe. I had so many compliments on them. A lot of fun to decorate as well. I let my kids cut out the cookies and I decorated them later. Icing can be tricky so I just added the milk very slowly till I had the right consistency.
