Cooking Instructions
- 1
Start by mixing custard powder with 100 ml milk making a lump free slurry. Next boil rest of the milk. Add sugar and salt. Mix. As milk comes to boiling, add the prepared custard mixture.
Stir continuously. As you get a nice smooth custard in around 15 minutes. Switch the flame off. Custard need not be very thick.
Now preheat a vessel which you want to use for baking. - 2
Next take the bread slices. Spread butter on the bread evenly on both sides. Next cut it into squares.
Next take the baking dish, grease it nicely with butter. Now put the buttered bread pieces in it. Keep some custard for serving later. Add rest of the prepared custard mixture. See that the bread pieces must nicely get soaked with the vanilla custard.
Top it with kishmish.
Now put baking dish into the preheated vessel. - 3
Cover a lid and bake it at slow heat. Bake undisturbed for 35 minutes. Check. If it looks dry then fine, else bake for 5 minutes more.
It's ready..
Take out of the oven and let the pudding become warm.
Now cut it into pieces. Serve it with ice cream or with warm custard sauce. - 4
In a serving plate put warm custard sauce. Place the piece of bread pudding. Put small pieces of apples and cashewnuts. Drizzle honey on top of bread pudding and serve warm!!

Enjoy!!

Note that in custard, you can substitute sugar with jaggery and make it healthier.

Brioche Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce Brioche Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce
My husband loves bread pudding, and while I have yet to pinpoint the exact awesomeness that is our favorite from a local bakery, I have tweaked various recipes I've come across to settle on this little gem that has become my husband's favorite that I have made. Lol.We know the bakery uses Brioche, so that is now what I use. The bread pudding portion of this is a hugely altered version of a Paula Deen bread pudding. Her recipe called for 2 cups of sugar in the custard to only 3 cups of cubed bread. Like, "WHAT THE WHAT?".The sauce is my version of a caramel sauce recipe I found by Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman). Together they made an incredibly delectable dish! You can add nuts and/or raisins if you choose, but we really prefer ours "pure", just bread, custard, and extra sauce. I truly hope you enjoy this as much as we do! StephieCanCook -
Custard Pudding in a Sauce Pan Custard Pudding in a Sauce Pan
This is the custard pudding that my mother always made using a pot as a double boiler. My kids also love this pudding so I changed it to use smaller amounts of ingredients. The point is the amount of boiling water and the 7 minute + 7 minute rule! If you follow this rule you will get a jiggly and delicious pudding. If the container is too big, it will take too long for the pudding to harden. This is why this recipe makes a perfect 2 containers of pudding. If you want to make more, simply double the ingredients. Recipe by Toiroiro cookpad.japan -
