Tomato and cucumber salad

This is a simple recipe from my childhood. My stepfather always made this growing up. We ate this as a side dish, as an appetizer, at cookouts,...even as a topper for other foods! He usually only did "Cucumbers & Tomatoes in Italian Dressing" but when I started making it myself in my late 20s I started adding onion because I'm obsessed with them! 😆👌 Then, in my early 30s a good friend made this at her home with the addition of green peppers as she had grown a lot of them that year. So now, my personal recipe has adapted to the inclusion of all of these wonderful foods! I also, play around occasionally with the dressing. 😎👍 This particular time I used a raspberry vinaigrette in place of Italian Dressing & I have also used regular vinaigrettes as well. This is always a nice addition to dinner or the cookout. And even as a midday snack! 👏🤤

I grow up on this salad in portugal. It's lovely and light. It compliments barbecued meat really well

This is a salad I make ALL summer. This is just the basic recipe but you can think outside the box with this and add Parmesan, pepperoni, provolone, salami, additional veggies like roasted peppers or celery etc etc. Its so simple but delicious!

A recipe from my mom who's from Stuttgart :) German cucumber salad marinates the cucumbers and other veggies in a vinegar-heavy dressing so it's rather tart and super refreshing in the summer. Also no oil so very healthy!

Eating these always make me nostalgic for school lunches. It's an easy, relatively simple sandwich but I have never seen this anywhere else so I posted this recipe. My sister, who went to the same school, says 'I don't remember this.' I wonder why. A lot of people seem to like it anyway!The cucumber is prepared with salt, so don't use too much mayonnaise. When I was an elementary school student, I used to think that the mustard in mine was too strong so you might not need any mustard for your children's sandwiches. The only thing i do differently on the recipe is i use one large seedless cucumber, around 12" and omit the tomatoes. Very tasty side dish, enjoy!

I came up with the idea for this recipe thinking that konyaku could be used as a substitute for jellyfish in Chinese style cucumber and jellyfish marinated salad, since frozen konyaku has a texture similar to jellyfish. I posted this recipe because the dish came out very tasty, and the frozen konyaku gave an interesting texture, although it would not be mistaken for jellyfish.Complete the first three steps of the recipe a day before. Once the prepared materials are frozen, cooking takes very little time. The konyaku to be used should not contain fresh yam. That type of konyaku tends to be too crispy, and so is not recommended for this recipe. Reasonably-priced regular konyaku would do fine. Recipe by Poron526

"Rübensalat" This is a recipe from Sachsen - Anhalt in Germany . They made up for the times when there was not much meat to bring colour and variety onto their tables with vegetables.
