Refried Beans

I love this recipe because it is so simple and fully customizable. You can add more or less of anything to suit your taste, like if you prefer spicy, add 1/2tsp cayenne to give it a little kick, substitute the chili powder and cumin with a packet of taco seasoning. And you can multiply the recipe and freeze in 1-2cup portions for quick use in the future :ohyeaah

Cooking Instructions
- 1
In large pot, saute onions in fat until translucent.
- 2
Add garlic & cook an additional 1-2 minutes
- 3
Add beans and milk as needed for desired consistency (more for thinner paste, less for thicker paste)
- 4
Stir in all spices & bring to a slow simmer.
- 5
Cook on low heat for 10-20 minutes stirring occasionally. Add a splash more milk if it cooks down too much
- 6
Once it has cooked down enough & the spices have had enough time for the flavors to infuse, mash beans with a potato masher, fork, immersion blender, etc.
- 7
Serve on burritos, with rice, in a taco salad, whatever you fancy!

Refried Beans - Slow Cooker Refried Beans - Slow Cooker
This is, by far, the easiest way to make homemade refried beans. It does take some planning ahead, but for the most part, this recipe is very hands off. These are creamy and nicely seasoned. They're not spicy, so long as you remove the seeds from the jalapeno. Feel free to substitute the pinto beans for black beans to mix things up. Christina -

Refried Beans: Mark 3 Refried Beans: Mark 3
This is a recipe originally taken from Leslie Koehn’s Brazilian Beans, but I altered it through trial and error to fit my needs. This resulted in a mix of healthy and delicious ingredients that will put any restaurant’s refried beans to shame.Note: After you learn to make it, neither restaurant nor store bought refried beans will ever taste the same again as your taste buds will only demand the rich flavors that only this very own dish can provide! Substitute for Refried beans Substitute for Refried beans
I thought I had refried beans and well I didn’t and the recipe I was making called for it, so I came up with this... and because I was already using taco seasoning for the dish I was making I added it to the beans too. I was making my beans dip and I didn’t have the main ingredient lol.... this recipe turned out awesome and I might be making my refried beans this way for now on, way better than the can stuff, and so easy. 🌈NinjaMommaKitchen🌈 -
