Caramelized Onions
I love caramelized onions as an accompaniment to most of my dishes and find it very easy to make.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare your onions by cutting them into rings
- 2
In a pan, heat the cooking oil then add the prepared onions
- 3
Let the onions cook for about 5 or 10 minutes. When translucent, sprinkle salt and pepper
- 4
Continue cooking the onions letting them brown slowly
- 5
At this stage you can take them off the fire if you want them without the other shenanigans (😅).. They will still be so sweet
- 6
However, I love drama in my onions.. so I add the vinegar, soy sauce and more pepper as the onions continue to darken.
- 7
After having them as dark or as light as you like, remove them from the pan. I love mine dark because then the sweetness of the onion is so heavenly and the caramelization has been achieved
- 8
Serve them with rice, potatoes, or use them for your sandwiches, burgers, and steak. You can also store in the fridge for use in later meals. Enjoy!

I rely on slow cookers a lot. I use it at least once a week. And sometimes I use it to make shortcuts. We love caramelized onion, but boy, sometimes I am just too lazy to make it. So making a big batch and storing it in the fridge or the freezer is the way to go! Angela Mertoyono -

Since I wanted to eat onion gratin, I sauté a huge amount of these!Without these, I can't make the onion gratin soup that I learned from my mom.Slowly sauté the onions until brown, then stir to brown another portion. All you need to do is sauté as long as you are aware that the onions will become caramelized in time, you will persevere. Stir-fried Ginger pork with onions Stir-fried Ginger pork with onions
Japanese inspired sliced pork with onions. Infused in a sweet sauce with caramelized onions. Made this as part of a meal prep. I only had a chunk of pork loin in the freezer. Semi-thawing it made it way easier to slice the pork thinly. Learnt something new and love this trick! I made the seasoning stronger as we were pairing it with plain boiled carrots and Bok choy. Aubergine dip (Melitzanosalata) Aubergine dip (Melitzanosalata)
I have mentioned before that I do love Eggplants I made this dip that I think you might enjoy. The Greek cuisine has many different types of Appetizers besides Tzatziki which is the top contender of the bunch. Just a small fact about the Eggplant which is considered a berry, just like the watermelon, tomato, and the blueberry, and yet it is considered a vegetable in the Culinary world, what an interesting fact. This is such a scrumptious recipe for the summer and so easy to make. It is a great dip to add too your menu if your having a summer party.Oh!! I will be posting another Appetizer that involves Shrimps very soon; :) Foodzesty -
Slow Cooker General Tso's Chicken Slow Cooker General Tso's Chicken
I first tried General Tso's Chicken when I was about 13. It was spicy, it was tasty, and it was very different from our usual Chinese Take-out Orders. I loved it at first sight. I started cooking a few years later and was always up for trying to make it, but I was intimidated.A few years ago, I tried to make Orange Chicken and it was very easy to make, so tasty. When we bought our slow cooker about a year ago, I have made a lot of different Asian inspired dishes. I found a few different recipes for General Tso's in the slow cooker, but they either had too many ingredients or the reviews were poor.As usual, I took from a few different recipes, combined them, then added a few other steps of my own. I made this my recipe and loved it. It is so easy to make and very tasty. Hopefully, you will like it as much as I did.Enjoy! J.A.B. -
Scallion Pancakes Scallion Pancakes
My 100th recipe! 🥳 Scallion pancakes are one of our favorite dim sum dishes, and I really wanted to learn how to make them at home. They are a bit of work, but my family and I really enjoyed these! I feel like I still need to perfect my cooking technique to get really flaky layers, but that’s just an excuse to make more pancakes! 😋 #GlobalApron Week 3 Spring Onions#Chinese #Appetizer #Snack #Savory Chris Gan
