Delicious Caramelized Onions

I wanted to make delicious caramelized onions to use in all kinds of dishes!
Just keep sautéing it. The butter and garlic at the start can't be omitted. They both add a delicious richness.
The browned bits should be brown, not black. Be careful not to let it burn. Recipe by Happyjakki-

Cooking Instructions

Slice the onions. You can't see it in the photos, but I had about 2 plates full.

Microwave for 5 minutes at 700w.

Take it out and mix it well. At this stage, only the onions in the center will be wilted. Microwave for another 5 minutes.

Put the butter and grated garlic in a heavy pan and start heating. When the kitchen is filled with a wonderful aroma...

...add all the wilted onions! A pot full of onions...

Sprinkle in a little salt and sauté over high heat. Scrape off the brown bits that form at the bottom of the pan, and add stir them back into the onions.

If you can't scrape the browned bits off with the onions, add 1-2 tablespoons of water to the pan - it will sizzle! Keep scraping.

Repeat steps 6 and 7, and the onions will become beautifully caramelized like this! Season with salt and pepper to finish.

I measured how much time it took! Wow, it only took 16 minutes and 10 seconds to become this beautifully caramelized!

The onions are easier to use later if you spread them out very thinly in the ziplock bag.

You can use the onions in all kinds of things! For instance, curry!

You can use the onions in French onion soup -, hashed beef stew, and simmered dishes to add tons of rich flavor.
