Ingredients

  1. 1 lbground sirloin, or chuck. Your choice. I used 1 1/2 lbs
  2. 1small yellow onion diced
  3. 1 1/2 cupselbow macaroni
  4. 3 1/2 cupsbeef broth
  5. 1/2 cupsour cream
  6. 2 cupsfreshly shredded cheddar cheese. I used smoker cheddar
  7. 1 tablespoonketchup
  8. 1 teaspoonDijon Mustard
  9. 2 teaspoonshot sauce (optional)
  10. 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  11. 1 teaspoonseasoned salt
  12. 1 teaspoononion powder
  13. 1 teaspoongarlic
  14. 1 tablespoondried or fresh chopped parsley
  15. 1-2 tablespoonsolive oil

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

In a large pan, (I used my enameled cast Dutch oven) add olive oil and onion and cook 2-3 minutes.

  2. 2

Add ground beef and brown over medium-high heat. Drain or spoon off fat.

  3. 3

Reduce heat to low and add in all spices but fresh parsley. If using dried add in half now, otherwise you'll add fresh market at the end. Add broth and elbow macaroni and mix well.

  4. 4

Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes but stir a few times to make sure pasta gets cooked thru.

  5. 5

Once pasta is cooked remove the pan from heat and add in your sour cream and shredded cheese and mix to combine. Add in fresh parsley, store and serve.

I actually am not terribly fond of cooking, (I know, right? Wrong place here) but love to eat new things that aren't processed and like to try my spin on recipes or cook off the cuff. I do some full fat cooking and low carb cooking but the cooler months I love to make sweets! My husband truly enjoys my cooking but hates when I make something the first time and off the cuff but never write it down and the second time it's never as good so hopefully using cookpad will help.PS- Not here to hook-up and trust me, you can't catfish me.
